Who we are.
Arthur Rubber Company is a family-owned, fourth-generation industrial rubber and polyurethane manufacturer headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. We were founded by Boyd Arthur Sr. in 1937, the year before our current location was even a paved street, and we have been continuously manufacturing custom rubber products for American industry ever since.
Today our 75,000 square foot manufacturing facility on Memphis's Harbor Avenue is home to one of the deepest libraries of proprietary rubber and polyurethane compounds in the industry — 150+ formulations developed over decades to solve real customer problems. We were named to the Inc. 5000 list in 2013 (#3,958) for our growth as a private American manufacturer.

What we do that others don't.
Most industrial roll covering shops buy stock compounds from a custom compounder — the same compounds anyone else can buy. We have an in-house chemist with 40+ years of experience and a library of 150+ proprietary compounds we developed ourselves, tested by independent third-party labs, and field-proven before they joined the catalog.
When a customer brings us a problem — a compound failing prematurely, a vendor lock-in driving costs, a line running slower than it should — we don't pull from a shelf. We analyze the failure, reverse-engineer what's failing, and engineer something that solves it. That's the difference between a roll shop and a roll manufacturer.
Four generations of Arthurs.
Boyd Arthur Sr.
A B.F. Goodrich veteran. Founded Manufacturers Rubber & Supply Co. in Memphis, TN with a bet on service, quality, and America's industrial heartland.
Boyd Arthur Jr.
Took the helm and broadened the line into Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics — tanks, pipe, ducting, scrubbers — serving the chemical and process industries flooding into the Mid-South. Trade shows, sales team expansion, and growth on Union Avenue.
Boyd Arthur III
Made the defining strategic move: split the original business into two separate companies. Took the roll covering and tank lining segments and formed Arthur Rubber Company — with a renewed, undivided focus on serving those markets at the highest level.
Boyd Arthur IV "BJ"
Worked summers on the production floor through late high school and college at the University of Memphis — learning every machine, every process. Moved into Sales & Marketing in 2006 and now drives the modernization, branding, and growth era. Branded compound portfolio, digital transformation, mission to scale 2-3x.
The Next Arthur
The fifth generation is preparing to step onto the production floor — carrying forward the same hands-on apprenticeship Boyd Arthur Sr. began in 1937. A new chapter is already being written.
